Red Sky at Morning
Wednesday, September 26 – Sailors, take warning. Granted, our little Canon may have over-emphasized the red end of the spectrum when old Sol peered over the Atlantic about 6:34 a.m., but that doesn’t mean the forces of greed and stupidity aren’t out to take away our freedom.

Aside from the photograph above, about all we have to offer today are a couple of new links, and the same old argument (see below for that). Then we have to disappear behind the curtain and continue development of one of our more insidious schemes to assist in the takeover of this government by the citizens.
Naomi Wolf was on one of the nation’s most serious news programs the other night, discussing her new book, The End of America: A Letter of Warning To A Young Patriot. Her interview was heartening and frightening at the same time. It was frightening because she laid out, in a very non-crazy manner, just how close we may be to losing our freedom. It was heartening because that is the first step towards keeping it.
Ossified old cranks that we are, we were also quite pleased to note in this BuzzFlash interview that Ms. Wolf “deliberately wrote the book in the most accessible possible way, really based on Tom Paine’s prose style. The pamphleteers of the Revolution were really deliberately trying to write in a way that ordinary people — farmers, small shopkeepers, people without an elaborate higher education, people who are not aristocrats — could understand.”
Ms. Wolf, we knew Tom Paine. Tom Paine was a friend of ours. Ms. Wolf, you remind us a lot of Tom Paine.
Our freedom is at great risk, and we can’t see any way to save it without a free press, something we don’t really have now. We do, of course, have an enormous number of distractions and propaganda outlets. But that’s not the same thing. So, we’re here arguing for the development of a new network of small, free, independent local newspapers. We go on about them in a little more detail here.
Now, it’s back to our latest insidious scheme …
