Royalty Sighted

Monday, March 7, 2011 — We are not in the habit of fawning over royalty. We have not had a known monarchist on our staff since Daniel Fowle sent his counterfeiting nephew Robert Luist Fowle packing 230 some-odd years ago. That being said, we recognize that some royal visits deserve attention and respect.

Kate the Great is in town, and is available on tap now at the Portsmouth Brewery. Don’t tarry — it will probably be gone before 6:00 p.m.

In honor of this felicitious occasion the Brewery’s Retail Store Manager, Liz Barrett, rode her little pony for a while in the front window of the Brewery while wearing regal attire.

Governor John Lynch, though not visibly present at the Market Street brewery, honored the occasion with an official Proclamation containing no less than seven whereases. Below, Head Brewer Tod Mott and Marketing Director Joanne Francis revel in that gubernatorial recognition.

Our Wandering Photographer neglected his duties long enough to enjoy a small glass of Kate. He reports that it is almost certainly the best beer he’s ever tasted, but claims that more research is needed.

  1. That sounds like a great brew! I’ll have to head to KTP to get a sleeping bag to wait in line next year. Say, why does it take me 5 minutes to blow through the local Award Winning Daily when it takes me a week to digest yours? Could it be that one is like a marshmallow cup and the other a full course meal?
