Emulating his brother on the radio
Yes, yes, we know. "National Guard service is military service." Well, it all depends on the temporal context. David here turned 18 in December of 1970, when it was still fairly easy to find your short life ending rapidly in a stinking hellhole 8,700 miles southwest of Missouri. But apparently somebody knew somebody who could get David a nice safe berth in the Guard. His uncle Stephen Limbaugh Jr., the judge, perhaps? Or maybe it was his grandpa, Rush Hudson Limbaugh, Sr., the lawyer, jurist, legislator, and ambassador.
