On December 11, 1943, Frank Sinatra faced the Draft Board the day before his 28th birthday. For the next 55 years, his fawning public believed he wasn't drafted because he had a punctured ear drum. Years later, declassified FBI reports said he was determined to be "not acceptable material from a psychiatric standpoint."
