Friday, October 16, 2009 — Last night the Portsmouth Fire Department dedicated Vigilance, a sculpture and fountain by New Hampshire artist Emile Birch, located just outside the Central Fire Station. Below: after playing at the ceremony, a band of pipers gave a well-received impromptu performance as they left the Rusty Hammer.
Wow, what agreat way to commemorate. Must have been lovely to have been there, although sad too I am sure!
