Tuesday, August 10, 2010 — Taking on a news organization as highly respected as the BBC is a fool’s errand, but duty calls.
Today the Beeb’s Washington correspondent David Nasaw, in the course of explaining why the U.S. Mint continues banging out $1 coins which no one wants to use, had the temerity to assert that they bear the likenesses of “presidents no-one even remembers anymore, like Franklin Pierce … .”
Please, Mr. Nasaw — this is not only disrespectful, it is demonstrably false! Just ask the members of The Pierce Brigade!
