A Nazi-Defender Writes…

Dear Asswipes: In regards to the front-page rant article on your May 2 (Vol. CCLIX, No. 17) issue… [“100 Down, 1,359 To Go” – The Ed.] Now you know how the REST of US, the MAJORITY of us (Don’t believe me? Google a color-coded map of the Voting Pattern in the last election!) felt EVERY DAY of the obama + Biden presidencies… Sweating every day about what new STUNT he was going to spring on us next and worrying about what was going to be left of the country when he was done… Now it’s YOUR turn to sweat… And seeing how much you’re cryin’ …

Time To Step Up If You Can

[Note: While we are publishing the following letter on its merits, we owe it to our readers to inform them of a personal interest: when the editor was a high school student, his world view was profoundly and permanently altered by reading Paul Krassner’s satirical magazine, “The Realist,” copies of which were lent to him by Ed Gray, the author of this letter, who was then his classmate. – The Ed.] Dear friends of “One More Mission,” I’m writing to tell you about a recent blow to “One More Mission,” our documentary film about Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and what we’re doing to respond …

The Cultural Revolution Comes to N.H.

[Ms. Aiken neglected to include a salutation. – the Ed., deeply hurt by this rudeness.] On April 16, 2024 the Union Leader published an important op-ed by Rep. Len Turcotte of Strafford County. [The headline: “Accessory Dwelling Unit is a deceptive term for ‘rental unit’”.] It has never been more applicable than it is today, with dozens of bills proposed by those attempting to remove local control of zoning with ‘death by a thousand cuts’. Turcotte compared this to Chairman Mao Zedong’s attempt to control everything centrally in China. I’ve compared it to the Bolshevik Revolution, also known as the October Revolution, which was led …

Genocide. Genocide. Genocide.

To the Editor: Three words about Gaza haunt my mind: GENOCIDE. GENOCIDE. GENOCIDE. Who has supported Israel unconditionally? In 2021, it was Biden, Harris, Blinken, Austin, and Sullivan, and in 2025, it is Trump, Vance, Rubio, Hegseth, and Waltz. All are most certainly war criminals. According to the media source Mondoweiss, Israelis have now dropped more explosives in Gaza than fell on London, Dresden, and Hamburg combined during the Second World War. The respected British Lancet organization reports that hundreds of thousands of Gazans have most likely been killed. California Dr. Feroze Sidhwa, a general trauma and critical care surgeon, traveled to Gaza in 2024 …

A Grand Panjandrum from Mount Pelerin
Accuses Us of Error—or Worse!

At 00:01 a.m., on April 8th, that Tuesday’s entries into Admiral Fowle’s Piscataqua River Tidal Guide went live at nhgazette.com. At 10:00 a.m.—about the start of the working day for the mandarins who oversee the nation’s public discourse—one of those items drew a response. Without further ado, the entry in question, the response it drew, and our rebuttal. — The Ed. Entry: 1947—Frederick von Hayek, Ludwig von Mises, Milton Friedman, et al. issue a manifesto at Mont Pelerin obfuscating their goal: neo-feudalism. Response: At best this is not true. At worst it is a lie. I would encourage you to read Mises’ book Liberalism or …

Trump’s Dangerous Attacks on Veterans

Dear Editor: This week, a memo from the Veterans Administration (VA) indicated that it plans to cut 83,000 employees to comply with Mr. Trump’s orders to slash the federal government. (Military.com) These cuts are on top of the few thousand VA jobs already cut, along with hundreds of contracts that support veterans’ health care. These cuts will have devastating effects on thousands of New Hampshire veterans who rely on the VA for their health care, including members of the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. In addition, about 25 percent of the VA workforce are veterans, many who have already lost their jobs. These …
