The Ohio house of representatives has appointed a committee of five members to investigate the charges made against four members of the present house, that they accepted bribes to vote for Henry B. Payne for United States senator while members of the last general assembly. Senator Payne represents the Standard Oil Co., and incidentally the democracy. Dear Editor, So, who’s next, Cuba, Greenland, Colombia, Mexico? Given free reign (sic) by a court that every tyrant and thug on the planet would love to have in their corners, our dictator, in the one or two lucid moments he has each day, has apparently decided to take over the Western Hemisphere all by himself. So much for any hope that the cavalry might come to the rescue of the republic. In November, New Hampshire’s Maggie Goodlander and five other Members of Congress, all with backgrounds in the military or national security, made a video in which they reminded active duty service members that they have a right and and a duty to refuse illegal orders.
